VW Golf VI tuned by McChip with 252HP

The new Golf GTI is powered by a 210 horsepower engine, but if you’re not satisfied with that kind of power, the guys over at McChip have some good news for you. They have upgraded the new Golf VI GTI to new power specifications, which will satisfy most customers. A quick ECU tune that has been priced at €849 (around US$1,150) adds another 42HP and 100Nm or 74lb-ft bringing the total output of the 2.0 TSI to 252HP and 380Nm or 280lb-ft of torque.

The tuning package (besides the CPU upgrade) includes the new sport suspension kit from H&R that brings the hot hatch a few inches closer to the ground as well as beefier 19-inch alloy wheels in a black finish from OZ plus a set of ‘racing-stripes’ available in various colors. Something that all of VW GTI owners would appreciate on their car, bringing more performance both in the horsepower section, and as well as in the handling abilities of the car. The car will be officially revealed at this week’s Tuning World Bodensee in Germany.

The changes from the Golf V GTI are really small if you get to the appearance of the car …

I must agree, onestly I don’t see any real reason to get the new Golf VI GTI in any case here. The changes aren’t that big, and the price is a little bit greater than the old model.

Is that rust on the rear muffler system there?

  • Michael W. Rush said:

Ahahahahaha … nice catch! Yes I think that is rust, maybe the car was driven on water too much ;)

How that can happen to any tuner, it’s a mistery, the car is brand new, and the exhaust system is new :P
