Rumours: Chevrolet Camaro gets to Europe?

Today we found out that the new Chevrolet Camaro will be getting to Europe and by getting we mean soon. This is very good news for the european buyers, who are in need of some american muscle. But in the meantime, reading this information on other websites, we must ask will there be demand for this car? The raging fuel prices, combined with a high expected price, the need to change some parts on the car to meet the EU regulations, might really jack up the prices. The U.S. pricing for the Camaro starts at $23,040 for the V6 and $35,425 for the V8-powered SS. When we recalculate that in euros, we get a price of about 16, 400€ for the V6 version or the 25, 515€ for the V8 powered one. Not much for a car that looks, feels and goes?

Yeah, the car would (by this calculation) cost something in the range of a  moderately equipped Golf or Astra for that matter.Bbut somehow we are not sure that the price for the base model would be below 30 000€. Why is that? First of all when looking at these prices, the best way to show some realistic prediction is to double the price tag, then add some 4000-5000€ of different taxes, expenses and you might get the real price. We really don’t know the EU prices that GM is going to put up for the export model, but common sense gets us the price mentioned earlier.

This is a clear example of a “Hate it or Love it” car. Who likes and wants these kind of cars, won’t ask too much about the price tag. When you look at it, the car will come up something in the line of the new BMW 335i. Well, you would definitely go into think mode about what to buy then. But then again, the V6 or V8 sound of american muscle will be too catchy for some, and we think that this car will be the option for quite a number of people. Not to mention that the tuning options are limitless. Getting a set of turbos, making it a twin-turbo setup or getting some huge supercharger will make this (even now) powerful car into a real monster. We will keep you updated with stuff we find out about the whole thing, and we’ll make sure to get you those prices as soon as possible. We know that some of you may be inpatient to find out …

Nah … if it goes under 35 000€ it will be a great deal, these predictions are right, but the conersion from dollars to euros doesn't work in the true fact that the US cars will have double the price of it's US versions …

We are sorry if mistakes do occur, but this being a site with international writers, they do happen from time to time … what mistakes were you talking about here, so they can be corrected immidietly?

To be honest John, you are really not the only one who sometimes gets a little frustrated at some articles. Being this a car website, I don't really hold a grudge against them, there is no use. And their articles are getting better by the day. If you look at it really, they are here for a couple of months and I come here to get new stuff every day, so it is worth something. If they would just improve some of the writing skills, this would be an awesome website.
