Video: An awesome BMW E30 M3 powered by a V10 S85 engine
It was not that long ago that the BMW M3 E30 was reigning the racing tracks all over Europe. Well not that long may be over 20 years, but hey who’s counting? Not to let us get distracted again, we all remember the 4-cylinder engine running in the production version? The engine which developed from 195HP in the first versions, all the way up to 238HP in the EVOII version. Well, that just wasn’t enough for a few guys from Sweden (who are generally known to produce awesome cars) when they decided to put a V10 engine in this car. If you didn’t know, the tuning scene in Sweden has so many good, but older cars tuned for a simple reason. All of the new cars there can’t be modified, remade, tuned, changed parts or something like that, because of a law prohibiting these things. The older cars are exempt from this rule. So you can clearly see, why there are so many awesome tuning projects there.
There are generally some issues with putting an engine this big, into a car small as this. But when you look at it logically, the V10 only has 1 extra cylinder compared to the old engine. Another great feature of the factory design, is that the S14 isn’t pushed back as it could be by the space avaliable. This means that the new engine is pushed back against the wall, but it doesn’t need any more extra cutting, or refitting like in some other projects. The E92 M3 V8 produces a lot of horsepower, but in this kinda battle it just can’t get the grip with the old M3 here. There are three videos, we are bringing all of them here, so you can enjoy them. We are just wondering, what kind of handling does a car like this get on a racing track. But we will hopefully find that out also, and bring the results to our readers.
