What Will McLaren Reveal At The International Auto Show In Paris?
British sports car manufacturer McLaren is making their show debut on Thursday 27 September at the Paris International Auto Show. What will they reveal? We are clearly baffled by their press announcement as the next guy, but we still have a few ideas.
First one is the successor to the McLaren F1. Even though many will argue that MP4-12C is the successor to that supercar, we are keen to believe they will reveal something really amazing in terms of high performance sports cars, something that will rival Ferrari Enzo’s successor and Pagani, Koenigsegg and Bugatti in terms of the higher class of high-class automotive vehicles. Not a bad idea?
Second idea is that McLaren will reveal something electric. Yepp! We think they might join in to the world of electric high performance motoring with something only they can reveal. A 1,000HP electric McLaren that will put to shame any and every petrol car out there? Torque vectoring, independent electric motors powering each wheel, 200-300km range or something like that? Only wishful thinking from our side, but we are just day dreaming here.
Third would be their announcement of McLaren making a family saloon. Least likely, but again, we are day dreaming here. Something with four doors, enough boot space, 300km+ top speed, 0-100km (0-62mph) in 3.8sec and power well over 500 mark? A direct competitor to BMW’s M5 and the AMG models of Mercedes-Benz E-Class, CLS and S-Class maybe? Who knows! We can all just wait and see what happens.
And we do apologize if some ideas seem a bit ludicrous. It’s 9PM here and the staff has had some beers while contemplating this thing. Some even suggested they’ll reveal their designer line of clothes, bags, phones and other merchandise.
