According to Ulrich Bez, Aston Martin Is Not For Sale!
There has been much rumor going on and off the books talk about more than a few interested parties going on about purchasing Aston Martin. We are not naming names (as it would be pretty unethical to do) but word is a lot of mainstream manufacturers are eyeing the British car manufacturer.
This is mostly due that the Aston Martin brand by itself is a really interesting one and that according to some belief, it doesn’t have the funds to cover extensive research needed to keep up with their Italian and other competitors in the luxury sports car market. As talked earlier, the level of funding needed for a big release that Aston needs to do every few years is growing by each passing year and pushing the British car maker into clever thinking about funding, research and such.
As it comes to the light, a lot of people would love to see Aston Martin as a brand and platform be used to launch more models, more chassis configurations and different takes in the automotive world. One of the most logical and talked about ideas is an Aston Martin SUV much discussed on online forums and general car talk.
However, speaking at the launch of the new Aston Martin Vanquish, Bez said: “I can categorically say that we are not for sale. In the future – 2015, 2016, whenever – it is impossible to predict, but today it will not happen.”
“Every day I am approached by someone making contact for someone else who they say is interested in the brand, but we are not working towards it. We are launching our best-ever car in the Vanquish, we have a more diverse, profitable product line than ever before and we have thrived during our six years of independence.
“We are a good news story and, for sure, people want to be part of that – but that also means we are looking to the future as we are and with confidence.”
