Let’s define a parfect day. To some it may be relaxing, to others it may be sports activities. To us, besides spending time with our family, going to a racetrack is what we all dream of as a way of spending our weekends. Our friend and a great photographer Thomas Van Rooij did just that last year and we are happy to bring you some of the atmosphere and photos from the event he visited. Mind you, Thomas excused himself as not being a good track photographer but we definitely think he’s got something to reveal from his day of shooting racing cars at the track.
This event is the Gran Turismo Events Nürburgring 2013 held at … well, the Nürburgring. I know, I know. I can be really clever some times, that’s for sure. In a way, this racetrack is something that us all that think of ourselves as car nuts, consider the most interesting race track out there. To a point it’s simple. You can come there with your own car, drive your own pace and have a day at the track then brag about it on social media and to your friends all year long. Without a doubt this is what seperates Nürburgring Nordschleife from all the other tracks. You don’t need a track day or some special event. You can simply pick a date, come and pay for the entrance fee and drive. Simple as that.
At this event Thomas shot a Koenigsegg CCR, a Renault Megan R230, couple of mean looking BMW M3’s, a couple of Nissan GTR’s were there as well, Audi R8 too, few Porsche’s and a few other racing cars that surely tore it up there! Simply we are glad we can finish a tiresome week of hard work, stress and worries and check some interesting images from what seems to be an awesome event. Just what we needed!
Thomas had a great day checking the track, shooting cars and having fun! The result of that visit to the Nürburgring can be seen right below and we suggest you follow Thomas Van Rooij Photography on Facebook and give him some much deserved appreciation on Twitter as well.
